After obscenely-grinning Tom Dickson broke Apple-aficionado's hearts everywhere by blending an iPhone as part of Blendtec's "Will It Blend?" video series, then confused right-minded folk by putting the remnants on eBay and finding bidders who'd push the price higher than a working iPhone would cost, the story gets more confusing.  Apparently, with bidding standing at around $1170, eBay have taken down the auction.

Anyone who had bid on the macerated iPhone (which also came with a Blendtec blender, t-shirt and DVD of previous manglings) received a standard eBay "we've taken down this listing" email offering no specific reason for the pulling of the auction.  There's as yet no word from Blendtec regarding their side of the story.
