Analyst expects iPhone on other carriers with a year

If you are one of the many who wants an iPhone but doesn't want to be on AT&T, at least one analyst thinks that you may get your wish soon. AT&T U-verse remote DVR app released for iPhone

AT&T have released a free iPhone and iPod touch application that allows U-verse subscribers control their DVR systems remotely.  The app, U-verse TV Mobile Remote Access, can display program listings and full descriptions of individual shows, as well as allow users to schedule program or series recordings. 16GB iPhone 3G is “End of Life” says handset supplier

Vodafone retail staff have been alerted that the iPhone 3G 16GB has apparently been classified as End Of Life (EOL), with stock accordingly limited.  The news comes courtesy of supplier Brighthand, who warn that there is only "a few weeks stock available" of the Apple smartphone. iPhone 32GB listed “Coming Soon” at T-Mobile Austria

T-Mobile Austria have added a placeholder for the "iPhone 32GB", seemingly a version of the Apple smartphone with twice the storage of the current top-end model.  The handset appears under the carrier's "Coming soon" section, though without any image, detail of pricing or specific launch date. AT&T contract-free iPhone 3G confirmed: $499/$599

AT&T have announced plans to sell a contract-free Apple iPhone 3G, although they will not allow users pre-pay service but instead still require a standard monthly plan.  Both the 8GB and 16GB version of the handset will be on offer, priced at $599 and $699 respectively. Russia getting iPhone on October 3rd
