AT&T contract-free iPhone 3G confirmed: $499/$599

AT&T have announced plans to sell a contract-free Apple iPhone 3G, although they will not allow users pre-pay service but instead still require a standard monthly plan.  Both the 8GB and 16GB version of the handset will be on offer, priced at $599 and $699 respectively. iPhone 3G AC adapter recalled over electrocution fears

Apple has announced a product recall for its ultracompact iPhone 3G AC adapter, after some users have reported that the prongs can snap off in the wall-socket and thus present an electric-shock hazard.  Adapters from five specific areas are affected: the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico and several Latin American countries.
