If finding new music on the move isn't your first concern, but controlling what you listen to at home is, then perhaps you should give remote media player control Signal a try. Running on either your shiny iPhone or its WM counterpart, the $30 software allows you to control the music being played by your home computer: either iTunes on a Mac, or Windows Media Player, WinAmp or iTunes on a PC.

Two-way communication with the iPhone across your WiFi network means that it's constantly updated with what's playing, including album art, and you can skip tracks, fast-forward and rewind them and build playlists on the fly. There's also song ratings and adjustable EQ to play with.

Okay, so it's unlikely to replace a full touchscreen remote control, but then again the price comes in way, way beneath the cost of one of those. If you've been considering hooking your stereo up to your computer, or even just using it and its standard speakers as an mp3 jukebox, it makes sense to take a look at Signal.

Ah, this is pretty cool. Any word on if it works with video also?
Also, is there any updates on an app like Telekinesis, but for Windows? I’ve been waiting for something like that to come out for a while now.
