With the iPhone and iPod Touch both having WiFi, it's mightily confusing that Apple are yet to enable wireless synchronisation with iTunes rather than having to directly dock the gadgets with your PC or Mac. Developer francisois agrees, but rather than grumble under his breath has instead set to work with his own software, iPhone iSync, that's attempting to unlock that functionality.
Right now iPhone iSync can automatically update your iPhone's copy of a specified folder on your Mac, wirelessly making changes every 20, 30 or 60 minutes. The eventual plan is to integrate it with iTunes 7.5, which will allow the software to synchronise music, playlists and videos, too; francisois has it working with an older version of the media software, but the latest incarnation is refusing to be tricked into thinking an iPod is connected via USB.
iPhone iSync is a free download, compatible with Jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touch.
