Mere hours after the working Jailbreak for firmware 1.1.1 iPhones and iPod Touch was announced, toc2rta of the hack team has made the software available for testing. They're looking for bug feedback, but be warned, this is certainly not going to be the final release; as it stands, if you install the 1.1.1 Jailbreak your handset will no longer sync with iTunes.

To install, you have to visit a certain webpage:
"Navigate to http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com using safari to run the exploit.
THIS ONLY WORKS FOR ITOUCH/IPHONE 1.1.1
Don't use the exploit unless you know what you're doing! This will cause you not to be able to sync from iTunes. You will need to use IPHUC to access the filesystem. This is for experienced users only.
Please note: After navigating to the exploit site, your safari WILL CRASH and you will be returned to the home screen.
This is the EXPECTED RESULT, it means that the exploit executed!"
While this may be an official release of Jailbreak, I would very much doubt it'll be the last. Not only do they have to deal with the syncronisation issue, time will tell as to what Apple may come up with next - "inadvertantly" or otherwise - to encourage people not to tinker with their gadgets.
