Mophie's last product of note was a combination iPod shuffle case/bottle-opener; of use to some, perhaps, but a little niche for my liking. They're following up with something far more useful, the mStation Mophie juice pack for iPhone - basically a soft-touch, non-slip case for the cellphone with a built in LiIon battery pack that adds an additional 250hrs of standby, 8hrs of talktime, 6hrs of surfing, 7hrs of video or 24hrs of audio playback.

What's nice is that they've obviously given some thought to the whole package rather than rushed it out to stores. The case comes fully-charged and ready for use; there's a four-LED indicator to show how much power is left; and it recharges using a standard 30-pin Apple dock connector rather than some proprietary plug.
It'll be available December 21st for a decidedly reasonable $99.95, with a version for the iPod Touch landing in January next year.

Looks like something I would consider. But one suggestion comes to mind.
Since the increase in size will not let me put the phone and the battery pack in my current iPhone cases it would be nice if the battery pack had a belt clip built into the back of it.
Lets say I use it on a long plane flight (mostly why I would buy it) and during the lay overs I would like to just clip it to my belt, run to the next gate for my next plane, board the next plane and just start using it again.
With out the belt clip I have to disconnect the battery pack to store in my cary on bag, then put the phone in its belt case and so on. Just sounds like a belt clip would be a more sensible addition since not iPhone cases will fit the phone and the battery pack.
I relayed this same question to a mophie rep and he told me he had seen a prototype of a mophie belt case and said he expected one out very soon.
Dont buy one, I have purchased 4 (all at one time) for my friends and myself. Plus I know of 2 other people that have them. And all of them are not working properly. The jack where you put the cord to carge it on 90 percent of the ones that i know of are either loose, and very difficult to get it to charge, or broken and nonfuncional all together. plus the charge it does give you is very minimal.. Almost not even worth that little extra boost it’s so minimal.
This submit is bang on the money, so much so I just tweeted it to my buddies.
