We've talked about different ways to stream media to your iPhone before - whether that be from online storage or customised internet radio - but ladies-favourite Kevin C. Tofel has been trying out yet another alternative: Orb. To be fair, Orb isn't new; it already has a broad user-base of people enjoying its ability to stream music, video, even live TV to different computers and mobile devices. Kevin sets out to see how iPhone-friendly it is, and gives pretty detailed instructions for you to try it yourself.

First thing to flag up: so far, Orb haven't developed an iPhone-specific interface. There's the full interface (intended for full-sized screens) and a mobile version; Kevin actually found that, with a little pinching, the former works better. There are also limitations on what media the iPhone can receive; live TV isn't possible, since the handset only supports the .m4v format.

Still, it's good enough for him to consider deleting the 500+ songs he's currently got clogging up his iPhone and see how feasible it is to enjoy them all streamed instead. Give the tutorial a read and see if you feel the same way.
