Apple iPhone will be available at 2,000 retail stores in June

by Chris Scott Barr on May 18, 2007

So you might be wondering how many stores will be carrying the iPhone when it comes out. I think it's been pretty safe to say that all of the Apple stores will be carrying the iPhone, but just how many AT&T stores will have the phone stocked at release? According to a meeting Apple had with Bear Stearns analyst Andrew Neff that it will be carried at 2,000 retail outlets when ... continued »

Apple iPhone Conspiracy theory - was it all just an elaborate plan by Apple?

by Chris Scott Barr on May 18, 2007

I'm not one to sit around all day and come up with wild conspiracy theories (though I could tell you a tale about JFK) but here's something that has been bugging me since yesterday afternoon. What are the odds that the FCC would announce approval of the iPhone just a day after the false story regarding a delay of the iPhone? The whole thing just doesn't sit right with me. First, ... continued »

This is the day we've been waiting for, no not the launch day, the other day we've been waiting for. Today Apple received official approval from the FCC to release the iPhone. With only around a month until the expected launch, some experts have become uneasy about the fact that the FCC still had not approved the device. Now everyone can breathe a collective sigh of relief. continued »

Apple has received confirmation that their patent for an anti-theft safeguard for portable electronics has been officially approved. The anti-theft patent describes an “acceleration-based theft detection system.” The system works by tracking the movement of the device over time. In theory, after analyzing movement patterns it will be able to discern between the owner and someone that is trying to thieve their precious device. The device would incorporate an accelerometer and ... continued »

What’s the start date for ‘iPhone Personal Trainers’?

by Chris Scott Barr on May 16, 2007

Apple had an open house yesterday in Elk Grove, CA for the purpose of hiring 'iPhone Personal Trainers.' Honestly, that's got to be one of the weirdest titles for a tech job, but who am I to judge? Here's the big question though, what is the start date? They obviously won't start you after the iPhone has been released, so that will at least narrow down the date a little bit. continued »

Today we get our first look at the “wickedly cool” “Media Monster” otherwise known as the MOTO Z8. Will it live up to the hype? We'll see. Since it is to be a “Media Monster” it's going to need some good multimedia functions. The screen is very important, since you're going to be staring at it a lot. So they gave it a QVGA 16 million color TFT display that will ... continued »
