Quantum Research Group has sued Apple, claiming technology used to make the iPod’s Click Wheel infringes on a touch sensor patent it holds.
“We are suing Apple over charge-transfer technology in iPods,†said Quantum CEO Hal Philipp. “Some are based on Cypress’ PSoC chip and used in a way we believe infringes our patent… There are settlement discussions going on but I believe it will go to trial later this year. ...

I'm convinced that the Apple iPhone is the first piece of the puzzle to Apple’s master plan to rule the world of mobility. Apple’s offering already include Apple TV for your living room, Mac Pro, Macbook Pro, Macbook, iPods and now the Apple iPhone. The only market that Apple’s not in is the UMPC. Worry not my fellow Apple fans, because it’s only a matter of time.

Something smells fishy with this picture because it’s a little early for the UK phone retailer, Carphone Warehouse (CPW) to be taking registration info from future iPhone owners. The site is showing a launch date of December 2007. CPW could be fishing for info, so I’d think twice before giving the site your name, address and the carrier that you’re currently on.

I don’t recall Steve saying anything about whether the iPhone was getting released in Canada. So it’s a little premature to guess which carrier will be lucky enough to sell the new iPhone.
