Apple hover sensor patent app, Dev Team waits for public iOS 4.2.5 & 4.3 before offering unlock, Verizon never in running for original iPhone

A new Apple patent application has surfaced that shows a new sensor that may come to future iPhones that can sense when people hover over the device. The sensor would apparently be on the back and what exactly it would be used for is unknown, perhaps hover navigation using a finger? continued »

Ultrasn0w to get iPhone 3GS unlock thanks to old hack

Thanks to an unaddressed security flaw, the iPhone Dev Team have announced that they will soon update their ultrasn0w unlocking tool to work on the iPhone 3GS.  The exploit, known as 24Kpwn, was first discovered in the iPod touch 2G, and used in the redsn0w tool to jailbreak that PMP. The Dev Team release Ultrasn0w for iPhone 3G

It's the latest news from the iPhone Dev Team: they have released their latest tool, Ultrasn0w, which unlocks the iPhone 3G for use with any carrier.
