Apple have discontinued their $99 iPhone Bluetooth Headset. Apple Insider also revealed that Apple may have recently recalled existing inventory of the single-button headset --that it announced two years ago alongside the original iPhone-- for undisclosed reasons.

I agree the iPhone is simply sensational, while the Apple Bluetooth headset is a great example of minimal and functional design. However, if you've ever used the headset for even a few minutes in a loud or slightly windy environment, it's simply unusable. A Bluetooth headset without noise cancellation or wind guard is useless, no matter how pretty ...

We previously mentioned the glitch that allowed this capability with an active call, and then another that allowed it without an active phone call, but through the voicemail. The latest is the same as the previous voicemail glitch but is through the visual voicemail interface.
All you have to do is change the audio source for the visual voicemail to Bluetooth ...

While still not excusing Apple in any way, shape or form from the lamentable absence of A2DP stereo Bluetooth from the iPhone, there's at least a hack of sorts to play music and the audio track from a video through your wireless headset. Don't get your hopes up too much, though; it's a partial solution at best.
