iTunes and QuickTime get an update today

by James Allan Brady on November 5, 2007

iTunes gets bumped to version 7.5 and QuickTime gets up to version 7.3. Neither include anything major, the QuickTime update just makes it compatible with the new version of iTunes and has some bug fixes. iTunes adds the ability to activate the iPhone in more locations than just the US. There is also a new interactive music game that only works with new Nano, the iPod Classic, and the 5G iPod, ... continued »

iPhone 1.1.2 Firmware

by James Allan Brady on November 5, 2007

It’ll brick your hacked iPhone and maybe iPod Touch, no word on whether its replicating to the iPod Touch line yet though. What do you get for your as yet un-hackable firmware upgrade? You get more languages and their corresponding keyboard layouts if applicable. Other than that there is a TIFF exploit patch. continued »

O2 lifts data cap for iPhone

by James Allan Brady on November 5, 2007

So a while back I wrote a story about how most of the European companies that were getting the iPhone had some pretty strict data usage policies, O2 being one of them. Well, as of now, O2 is awaiting November 9th, the day when the iPhone will actually go on sale in the UK, and they have lifted the specified data cap. Their policy now reads that there isn’t a data ... continued »

It works in 29 countries including Canada, Mexico, and ... continued »

by James Allan Brady on November 2, 2007

And that’s on launch day alone! Speaking of over zealousness, in case you forgot, or don’t know, Carphone Warehouse is the retailer that is getting the iPhone to sell on O2’s behalf in the UK. Furthermore, if you live in, on, or around one of those stores, on November 9th, you might want to not be there for the hours from 6pm-close. Actually, maybe before then, freakin campers, wow, I never ... continued »

Time Magazine names iPhone Invention Of the Year

by James Allan Brady on November 2, 2007

I think its pretty well suited too, I cant think of a single thing that was announced and sold this year that did near as well as the iPhone did. The article starts by stating most of the arguments you might pose against the iPhone winning such an award, all the downsides, of the iPhone basically. Then they get to the real meat and potatoes, why it did win the award, ... continued »

iPhone cause for smartphone price hike

by James Allan Brady on November 1, 2007

Now its all just speculation right now, but its sounding more and more like the iPhone could cause other smartphones’ prices to go up. How? The more they try and be like the iPhone to more expensive the components become, namely the flash memory and multi-touch screen technology. Flash memory is probably the most expensive part that other companies are looking to adopt, namely because there is such a shortage of ... continued »
