InformationWeek reports that the number of users trading their old iPhone for the new iPhone 4 handset is booming. The number of users using trade-in services to get cash for their old handsets is up 1000% this year over last year.

A big rumor is floating around that Foxconn might be closing down its Chinese manufacturing plants for the iPhone. The rumor claims the operations would be moved to India and Vietnam.

The iPhone 4 isn't even in the hands of consumers yet and already we have pics of one with a broken screen. This particular handset was a shell with the screen only and was broken in a test to see how strong the screen was. Apparently it's worse than the iPhone 3GS in ruggedness.

The slick new iPhone 4 has now cleared the FCC with a request to keep some of the more secret details of the handset under wraps indefinitely. The report does include SAR levels to show how much radiation the new iPhone puts out.

A new patent app from Apple surfaced last week that outlined a way to put solar panels behind the screen of devices. Apple is looking to add solar panels to all its gear.

You won't be able to tether your iPhone to the iPad and it's not AT&T's fault this time. Apple has apparently blocked the Bluetooth profile on the iPad that allows tethering and has no plans to enable it.

Steve Jobs may respond on occasion to customers who email him but the CEO of AT&T doesn’t like to be bothered by the little people it seems. AT&T has threatened one customer with a cease and desist letter after he emailed the AT&T CEO twice.

AT&T gave a bit of good news and bad news today. The carrier announced that it was ending unlimited data plans for the iPad and the good news was that the firm promised to support tethering in iPhone OS 4, the real question is how much it will cost.
