China Unicom has continued to rack up reservations for the iPhone 5 at an impressive pace. The company had 100,000 orders the first day reservations were available and has now racked up 200,000 reservations in three days.

Despite moving 5 million units in the first weekend it was available, the iPhone 5 has fallen short of some analyst expectations. Analysts expected Apple to deliver more devices than it did and blame short supply rather than demand.

A company called FreedomPop has a new case for the iPhone that has integrated WiFi. The idea is by putting the case on your phone you can have access to 4G speeds. The case sells for $99 and includes 1 GB of free monthly data.

Apple's Tim Cook famously stated not long ago that Apple had too much money. Apple has decided to take some of that $10 billion it has laying around and repurchase shares and pay out a dividend to shareholders in Q4 working out to $2.65 per share.

Apple CEO Tim Cook isn't happy at all about the claims that are making rounds claiming the company is knowingly using manufacturing facilitates where labor abuses are common. Cook said, "We care about every worker in the worldwide supply chain." He also said that the accusations were offensive.

Target and Radio Shack are both said to be cutting prices of the iPhone this week, possibly today. The price cuts aren’t huge and would out the 3GS around $19.99, the 16GB iPhone 4 at $169.99, and the 32GB iPhone 4 at $269.99.

Dymo has announced that its CardScan Mobile application is now available for the iPhone. The app lets you take a photo of your business card and puts the data into the contacts section of the phone.

Apple has been granted a limited patent on pinch-to-zoom technology for multitouch displays. The patent has a few limitations that will mean most phones on the market are fine with their pinch-to-zoom. Apple's patent covers pinch-to-zoom and then pinching to zoom again within a set period.
