An unlocked, third-party software capable handset is always going to be desirable, but exactly how many buyers obtained an iPhone with the express intent of ditching AT&T? Apple is putting that figure at around 18-percent of the total handsets sold.

I imagine it's champagne and anti-histamines all round in Cupertino today, with the news that Apple sold 1,119,000 iPhones in the forth fiscal quarter and posted profits of $904 million from revenue of $6.22 billion. So let me get this straight, they dropped the price by $200 in a very short time and pissed off all the early adopters and said that it was so they could sell more during the holiday season, yet now they are lowering ...

Sure, the iPhone is the 4th top selling phone in the US, but with 82% customer satisfaction, could that number hit 1? 82% customer satisfaction for the iPhone, that’s a full 31 points higher than the next closest competitor, RIM, the maker of the BlackBerry handsets.
Furthermore, 16% of the people planning on buying a new mobile phone, are looking to the iPhone, that puts Apple at the top of that ...
