Could the next iPhone or the latest iteration of the iPod have this technology implemented into it? If Apple were to implement a multi-touch LCD like this into their devices the applications would be nearly endless.

$2 DIY MultiTouch with a plastic bag
Fancy making your own MultiTouch interface? Well, there's a $2 DIY way of doing it, but be warned - it's not exactly pocket friendly! Over at Medallia they've posted this video of a rigged-up touch interface consisting of a plastic bag, water dyed blue and an Apple iSight camera.

More iPhone MultiTouch Issues: handset goes haywire
The random spate of iPhone touchscreen problems continues, with Shannon McMahon experiencing some particularly erratic behaviour from his handset. Unlike previous issues - mainly taking the form of bands or patches of screen with reduced or no responsiveness - Shannon's iPhone decided to take a tour of its features by itself, activating its own virtual buttons and generally flying about the interface as if manipulated by an ADHD ghost-ferret.

iPhone MultiTouch Developers had same hardware failures as Apple
We're big fans of multi-touch interfaces and touchscreens in general here at MY iTablet, and you might recall some of the Onyx features our sister-site SlashGear ran back when the Synaptics concept was wowing iPhone-naive audiences. Which makes it all the more disappointing to hear about those iPhone owners suffering dodgy, temperamental screens. Apple patent MultiTouch Gesture Dictionary
I'm beginning to wonder if Apple will have any time to develop actual products if their lust for patenting continues at its current rate. It hardly seems like five minutes since the last one, yet already we're looking at the snappily-titled "MultiTouch Gesture Dictionary" - it describes a grouping of multi-fingered chords and movements that have either predefined or user-assigned functionality attached.

Apple touchscreen keyboard patent shows future of iPhone data entry
How intelligent do we want our keyboards to get? There isn't much danger from an old Imperial typewriter - short of catching your finger between two keys and ending up with a blood-blister - but Apple's latest patent (note: 4MB pdf link) for an intelligent touchscreen keyboard might be a precursor to the human race being subjugated by QWERTY overlords.

A new Multitouch product from Apple?
