I can’t believe anyone gullible enough to believe Cingular’s exclusive on the iPhone last only two weeks. Apparently there are such people in this world. One in particular goes by the name Dave.

I’m not sure which is more shocking; this guy Dave actually believing what he’s being told, or I writing this article. Damn, it’s a slow day for iPhone news.

So here’s what he says:

I was talking to a T-Mobile employee yesterday and he claimed that they would have the iPhone 2 weeks after the release. Cingular’s exclusive apparently lasts only 2 Weeks!!

For the hundreds of thousands willing to change suppliers when the iPhone ships this is both big and good news.

... The fellow was a T-mobile agent/employee and very excited about the news. He was willing to pre-sign me for the iPhone. That all I’ve got but he was convinced.

This obviously has to be false, especially when both Jobs and Stigman publicly announced a multi-year agreement between the two companies. Watch Stigman announce the partnership for yourself – in the video below.

Seems not like a gullible salesman but a dishonest one. He’ll sign you up, get you committed to the service and switch phones on you.

It’s the fact that he’s trying to “pre-sign” people that sends up the red flags.

ATT and Cingular may have a multiyear agreement with Apple for the iPhone, but they ** need ** to train their store employees better. ATT/bellsouth has been trying to force new customers to combine DSL/landline with cell service. Potential customers who currently are happy with their Cable internet service do not appreciate being strong-armed.
