Fashion-conscious Apple-addicts may be busy squealing over their new iPhones in the UK, but The Times is naming and shaming Apple and O2 for selling "the worst contract on the market it terms of value for money". The contract - which lasts a minimum of 18 months and costs at least £35 ($72) a month - includes a mere 200 free text messages and 200 minutes of free calls, comparing badly to O2's standard package which offers the same for £10 less.
"This is a very poor-value product and only makes sense if you are willing to sacrifice value for the new handset" Rob Barnes, Moneysupermarket.com
Barnes went on to criticise the iPhone for its 2.5G browsing speeds, which reduced the value of the included "unlimited data" package. Of course, none of this will be news to either existing or prospective iPhone owners, who are well aware of the premium Apple and O2 are charging based on the cachet of the already-iconic handset.

if you use the iphone to its potential you would soon realise that the tariff is actually a bargain.
£35 200 mins 200 text a bit tight ….? maybe. but you get free subscription to the cloud wi-fi network and unlimited data with EDGE
and it really is unlimited !
if you look at the home screen ! 7 of the apps need to conect to the web to work! so how is it the worst deal on the market! what other network offers a truely unlimited data service ? the answer is no one.
Its simple if you dont need those apps and dont use the web and only want the ipod and phone function ….GO OUT AND BUY AN IPOD AND A SEPERATE PHONE !
FOR THE REST OF US ITS A GOOD DEAL AND A FAULTLESS SERVICE.

It also gives unlimited data (normally £7.50) plus free wi-fi access & visual voicemail. Pretty damn good if you ask me!
