If you thought retro-gaming was as good as it would get for the iPhone, you're not only mistaken you're also gloriously naive.  While looking for indications of a UK launch of video downloads via iTunes, Download Squad have discovered some telling indications of Apple's planned gaming support for their iconic handset.

Two particular strings caught their eye, both relating to removing games from the iPhone; curious, you might observe, since right now there aren't any games to remove!

 /* ===== iPhone Game Item Strings ===== */
"4329.001" = "Are you sure you want to remove the selected game from your iPhone?";
"4329.002" = "Are you sure you want to remove the selected games from your iPhone?";

Current speculation is that so-called Game Items will be appearing as downloads - free or otherwise - on iTunes in the same manner that you can queue up music for your iPhone.  None of this, of course, has been confirmed by Apple themselves.
