MYiTablet Tips: Page navigation in Safari

Posted on 09 July 2007 by Chris Davies

It's well-documented that it's easy to whiz around a webpage thanks to the flicks and gestures Safari on the iPhone supports, but anything that cuts down on clicking and dragging is a Good Thing to my mind and so here's a handy surfing tip.  If you're reading a page that lacks a "return to top" link at the bottom then ... continued »

Instant answers to life’s vague questions, all fitting in your iPhone screen

Posted on 09 July 2007 by Chris Davies

Perhaps I'm a grumpy English cynic, but rejigging your page layout so that it doesn't get mulched in mobile Safari doesn't make your site into "an iPhone app" - it just means you're more accessible. Yet until more developers start ekeing out every scrap of usability from the SDK-less handset we'll have to make do with column-friendly websites maskerading ... continued »

iPhone application launchers are Safari touch friendly

Posted on 09 July 2007 by Chris Davies

Application launchers always seem to do good business on smartphones and mobile devices, perhaps because they tap both into users' innate desire to customise and because device makers themselves don't do an especially good job of organising programmes (yes, the iPhone is very easy to use when you're sticking with the applications preloaded, but what about the handful of web-based ... continued »

IM on iPhone options increase

Posted on 08 July 2007 by Chris Davies

Still no sign of an iPhone iChat client (I guess AT&T are a little too afraid - and rightly so - that it'd eat into their SMS revenue) but the web-based workarounds are growing in number.  If you're not sure how to IM with your online buddies then leave it to MYiTablet to bring you up to speed. Opera Mini 4 taking on iPhone Safari Browser?

Posted on 19 June 2007 by Vincent Nguyen

Those who won’t be buying the iPhone will have many reasons to switch from their current mobile browsers to the Opera Mini 4 beta. However, it is unlikely Opera’s Mini 4 will ever beat out Safari on the iPhone. Despite having new features like overview mode, zooms in to focus on content (similar to Opera’s Wii browser), dynamically ... continued »

Six new iPhone facts I knew about, but wasn’t confirmed

Posted on 18 June 2007 by Vincent Nguyen

You may or may not know about these six new facts we learned about the iPhone last week. Thanks to the leaked “iPhone Sales Training Workbook” for AT&T Wireless employees leaked last week as well as Apple CEO Steve Jobs WWDC keynote, you can take the following to the bank: The iPhone will have support for IMAP, POP3, and Yahoo ... continued »

iPhone Safari Browser: more footprints around the web, gets download benchmark and updates

Posted on 09 June 2007 by Vincent Nguyen

As previously reported, the iPhone browser signature is roaming free around the Internet. The browser received a number of updates from mobile version "1A538a" to "1A543a". Mac Rumor reported a Google search brought up a cached page where the iPhone was benchmarked using a mobile download benchmarking tool at BroadBandReports.com. The iPhone’s benchmark shows a 157K/second (1262) to download ... continued »
