A few weeks later than many expected, Apple have finally announced a memory upgrade for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPhone has a new 16GB model join the range, priced at $499, while the iPod Touch line is bolstered by a 32GB model. Both are otherwise identical to the previous versions, which remain on sale, and feature the 1.1.3 firmware preinstalled.

In a turn of events that almost seems too bizarre to be true, Russian journalist and 14-year Mac user Alex Patsay has written an open letter to Apple PR following what sounds to be a disastrous launch event in Moscow.
