Apple urge Orange to subsidise low-selling French iPhone

French customers could be next in line to see a cheaper iPhone, if rumors of ongoing negotiations between Apple and carrier Orange are to be believed.  Reported in the French paper Les Echos, iPhones in France are currently priced at €399 ($629).  However the difference would be that Orange would begin subsidising the handset based upon the monthly cost of the contract users would take out, which up until now ... continued »

uShow video recording & sharing app for iPhone

Omitting video recording is just another of the bizarre decisions Apple made with their generation-one cellphone, but if the past year has taught us anything it's that whatever iPhone developers set their mind to, they usually achieve.  In this case, it's a video recording app for the handset.  Called uShow, it currently seems to be in closed beta. continued »

Indian iPhone rumored for September Vodafone launch

Business Standard is reporting that Apple will launch the iPhone in India come September this year.  Quoting "Apple retail sources", the paper suggests that an exclusive deal for the handset is under discussion, and that the 8GB version will be priced at Rs. 27000-28000 ($680-700).  No details on contract obligation have been suggested. continued »

Apple patent widescreen head-mounted OLED display

iPhone Graffiti offers Palm-style handwriting recognition

iPhone Safari DoS bug discovered

Radware, who produce enterprise security software, are claiming to have identified a Denial of Service (DoS) flaw in the iPhone's mobile Safari browser.  While not yet seen in the wild, the bug is triggered by a Javascript command on a webpage - which Radware suggest would be linked to via a spam email or SMS message - and could result in Safari crashing or even the iPhone itself becoming unstable.  The flaw is ... continued »
