The Wall Street Journal is reporting that sources have told it that Apple has reduced iPhone 5 component orders. The reduction component orders are reportedly are due to weaker demand for the iPhone 5 than expected. According to the sources, display suppliers for the iPhone 5 have seen orders cut roughly in half.

A new patent application has showed up from Apple that hints future smartphones and other products may use glass that is no longer flat. The patent application outlines a method of creating curved glass. Rather than forming glass in a curved pattern, the patent shows the process of taking normal flat sheets of glass in curbing into the desired contour.

The designers behind the POP charger have announced that the project is back on. Previously the company had told backers that it would be issuing refunds after Apple refused to give the project its approval. However, Apple has now changed its rules regarding the Lightning connector and the charger project will move forward.
