iPhone owners looking to avoid congested freeways after a long day at the office may want to check out TrafficGauge’s new service for the iPhone. Its real-time traffic will help you pinpoint slow areas along major freeways and help you to determine a better route.

As you can see from the screen shot, traffic is free and clear here in Phoenix. It is after 3:00 AM in the morning.
Ryan Peterson, CEO and founder, commented, “The iPhone presents itself as the perfect platform for getting traffic information while on the go. Both Apple and TrafficGauge have been on the forefront of
user interface design and content delivery and now the two come together. Thus, I’m extremely excited about the synergy of our application and the iPhone.”
If you do not own an iPhone and still want to use the service, all that’s needed is a phone with access to the web. You can try out TrafficGauge for Mobile Web. Or try TrafficGauge for SMS/MMS to make use of text and picture messaging to receive live traffic updates.

isn’t this already included in Google Maps on the iPhone? In the lower right hand corner, the picture of the car. Clicking it displays the traffic. I’m pretty sure this is the exact same functionality.
TrafficGauge’s data is better than any other traffic data available. Other traffic vendors including Google have major errors in their traffic servers. Our traffic server has been thoroughly tested and vetted by having real paying customers who use our dedicated TrafficGauge Handheld device. With our free services you get the same quality of data that our paying customer get, but you don’t get our extremely easy to use interface of the dedicated hardware - commuters dig the always-on always up-to-date technology. Enjoy the TrafficGauge for iPhone. All of our products are available at http://www.trafficgauge.com including the dedicated devices for Los Angeles traffic, Seattle traffic and San Francisco traffic.
any plans on covering the new York metro area? Danke.
