Robota Softwarehouse, the creators of SysInfo and Screenshot, this time bring us an application called iSpit to use as a portable HTTP server, providing sharing of files from your iPhone. This app provides the simplicity of all the other iPhone apps with just turning the server on or off, and pointing your browser to 192.168.0.2. Once on the page you'll ...

Gaming emulators for the iPhone and iPod Touch will soon swell in ranks as psx4all, an original-Playstation emulator, joins the fray. Currently pre-beta, the software works on the Apple devices but is currently being tweaked so as to increase speed as well as screen placement and scaling. Controls, too, are due to come in for some attention; as you can ...

We've looked at ways to create music on your iPhone before, but what if you've already got an expensive ProTools-based rig and are instead looking to bring some MultiTouch love to controlling it? Musician Alex Lelievre might have the answer for you; his ProRemote software turns the iPhone or iPod Touch into a wirelessly-connected controller that can be used to adjust ...

In a bizarre coincidence, the German iPhone sold by T-Mobile has today been named one of "the most sought after items" for the holiday period, as well as a potential dud. Market research firm comScore uses online search frequencies to guesstimate consumer demand, with the iPhone coming in third in the German sector; however, sales of the handset have been ...

After Apple reduced the number of iPhones customers could buy from five down to two back in October, analysts speculated that the company was attempting to hold back stock in order to satisfy the predicted holiday period. Now, Apple have confirmed that the decision has been reversed and the limit increased back to five in both the US and the ...

AnySim has always claimed to be open source from the start, but the devs had never released an official source code. After endless waiting, not only can the devs work on it, but hackers and programmers from all around the world can also work on it, greatly improving it's code and compatibility with the iPhone.

Back when I regularly used an HP iPAQ one of the most useful upgrades was ditching the awful PocketIE browser and using one of the third-party alternatives - primarily because it added tabbed browsing. Safari on the iPhone and iPod Touch has multiple pages, but the team over at Inventive Labs Gadgets obviously prefer tabs since they've put together a ...

It seems as if all the iPhone dev teams are adding everything Apple forgot, maybe that was their plan, but this time Suavphisticated from ModMyiFone has created a MMS application for the iPhone. The application is currently in heavy development with lots of bugs. This is only the first beta version released and the dev team is still in progress ...

Apple may not comment on rumors and speculation, but even they would likely agree that Jim Goldman may have just scuppered at least part of their holiday season profits. The CNBC writer quotes "a very good source of mine with good connections to Apple's Asian manufacturing partners" in suggesting that the Cupertino-based company will be releasing the new 3G iPhone by May ...

With the iPhone and iPod Touch both having WiFi, it's mightily confusing that Apple are yet to enable wireless synchronisation with iTunes rather than having to directly dock the gadgets with your PC or Mac. Developer francisois agrees, but rather than grumble under his breath has instead set to work with his own software, iPhone iSync, that's attempting to unlock ...
