Soon to find its way to your iPhone homescreen, the AppStore logo is the subject of Apple's latest venture through the US Patent and Trademark Office, highlighting once again the Cupertino company's strong-handed control of each element that makes up the iPhone ecosystem. The icon itself resembles OS X Leopard's Application folder, with the 'A' made up of a paintbrush, pencil ...

I’m not surprised one iota. Remember their terms of agreement with Cingular? Yep. Jobs play hardball with everyone, knocking down every obstacle in his way.
Here are a few random thoughts on this matter. Cisco owns the trademark iPhone – hence has the upper hand. So why roll over to Apple? That’s the six million ...

At this rate, we'll see the iPhone on the market before we hear a resolution to this matter. Then again, you never know, maybe Cisco wants to put it off that long. The stronger the sales, the more they are likely to get out of it if they win.
However, the cause is more likely that the two companies are currently ...

I’m not convinced that Apple stole this technology from Citrix. And if they did, boy oh boy, is Apple going to get it from Citrix (wink-wink). I sense a hint of we hate you Apple coming from The Register – perhaps it’s just me being a little sensitive with all the Apple bashing going around ☺. Anyways, ...

Simply slapping a sticker with “iPhone†on it doesn’t necessarily mean that Cisco is rightfully using the mark in commerce. Which is what the company allegedly did, a few days prior to 5/16/2006 – a full six months after the deadline for filing the Declaration of Use. Cisco was very fortunate for the six months grace period granted ...

Like any unnatural high, after the thrill comes the aching come-down. And there was no high quite like Apple's announcement of the iPhone, laced with anticipation and cut with bodily thrills (some attendees at Macworld 2007 reported light-headedness and sweatiness of the protrusions); who would've suspected that the subsequent downer would arrive so soon?
Already coming in for some minor ...

Jason O’Grady of PowerPage.org was definitely right on, when he told me last night that the Mobile Me trademark were decoys.
