The 3G iPhone will be fast, especially on overseas networks where 7.2mbps HSDPA is common. Unfortunately for us in the U.S AT&T has no HSDPA faster than 3.6mbps, but 7.2mbps HSDPA is on their to do list. HSPA in its current form is tops out at 14.4mbps/5.76mbps down/up respectively. After iPhone shortages in the UK, it's now the turn of the US to experience supply problems.  According to the online Apple store, both the 8GB and 16GB models are "Currently Unavailable".  There's no indication of whether this is merely a case of stock mis-management or a sign that a new iPhone is fast approaching. continued »
