FreedomPop is a company that's been around for a while with accessory sleeves for certain Apple gadgets that adds 4G WiMAX connectivity to the mix. The company has announced that its iPhone sleeve is stuck at the FCC and the delay has cost it over $500,000 so far.

A new patent application has showed up from Apple that hints future smartphones and other products may use glass that is no longer flat. The patent application outlines a method of creating curved glass. Rather than forming glass in a curved pattern, the patent shows the process of taking normal flat sheets of glass in curbing into the desired contour.

Apple has quickly corrected a severe problem with its maps that had Australian authorities warning users of the iPhone and other Apple gadgets to not use Apple Maps. The flaw in the map application was sending people into a barren state park with potentially fatal results.

Police in Australia are recommending that motorists stop using Apple Maps. According to Australian police officers and correct navigation data has left six people stranded after they mistakenly ended up inside of a national park. The police say if it was a cold 45-degree day people can actually die.

New statistics from Kantar indicate that Apple has regained the top spot in the global smartphone market. Apple fell from the top spot last month as people stop buying the old version of the iPhone with the iPhone 5 set to launch. Kantar's stats show that the iPhone 5 is pushed Apple back to the top.
