Apple has quickly corrected a severe problem with its maps that had Australian authorities warning users of the iPhone and other Apple gadgets to not use Apple Maps. The flaw in the map application was sending people into a barren state park with potentially fatal results.

If you're tired of messing with Apple's new maps, you'll be glad to hear that Google Maps on the web has been updated with Street View imagery. Accessing Google Maps from your browser is the only way to get Google Maps on iOS 6.

Apple has confirmed that iPhoto for iOS is now using OpenStreetMap rather than Google Maps. Several companies have been moving away from Google Maps and other services recently. Apple has now acknowledged the use of OpenStreetMap in the credits for iPhoto.
