According to AT&T spokesman Fletcher Cook, the iPhone will become available through AT&T’s website as well as other outlets after the initial launch.

These “other outlets” are likely the other franchise outlets that carry AT&T phones, but are not owned by the company. There are 8,000 such franchise outlets and retail stores carrying AT&T phones.
No word on how long after the launch we will see the iPhone showing up in these places. This also makes us wonder if stores like Best Buy will also be allowed to carry the phone.

I wonder what time on the 29th the iphone will be on sale at apple.com
im guessing maybe 6pm pst
ATT told me that there would be no online sales at either apple nor att for atleast the first 3 months. Dont know how much truth their is to this, but you might be better off trying to snag one at a store.
Don’t trust anything at&t tells you, unless it’s something you know they are an authority on. Today’s latest news release from Apple tells us:
“Pricing and Availability
iPhone will be available in the US on June 29, 2007 in a 4GB model for $499 (US) and an 8GB model for $599 (US), and will work with either a PC or Mac®. iPhone will be sold in the US through Apple’s retail and online stores, and through AT&T’s select retail stores.”
Anything at&t tells you is pure conjecture at this point, especially when it comes to them knowing how *Apple* is going to sell them. Since the beginning, Steve has said it would be available at all Apple stores and Apple’s online store, and most at&t stores (real, not kiosks or franchises).
