Starbucks has tracks to pass out

October 2nd will be the launch of the Starbucks and Apple Wi-Fi iTunes Store partnership deal. The program will roll out in New York (city? State?) and Seattle and Starbucks will be passing out Song of the Day cards as well as a couple other promotions.

The Song of the Day cards will score you one free track from the iTunes Store, ranging from Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and Dave Matthews. They will have 1.5 million of them to pass out, so don’t forget to stop by Starbucks for a cup of joe and some free tunes.

Next they will also have iTunes Digital Release Cards which not only allows you to download music, but think of it like an enhanced CD, you can also download extras like music videos and booklets from different artists, including Eddie Vedder and KT Tunstall (the chick who sang at the last US Apple event). Those cards require in-store activation before they can be used.

They will also be selling rechargeable Starbucks coffee cards called Starbucks Card Plus Two which get you the value of the card in Starbucks products, and two free iTunes tracks. That’s pretty much it on the promotions front.

However, while we are on the subject, let us not forget that the Wi-Fi iTunes Store has yet to show up on the iPhones, so since the program launch date is October 2nd, I wouldn’t expect it till at best a day or two before then. Another reminder, the deal with Starbucks doesn’t get you unlimited Wi-Fi access for free in the Starbucks stores, just access to the Wi-Fi iTunes Store, you will still be charged for access to everything else.

  1. That track is amazing, and I’m not really into that kind of music! I really enjoy listening to it!
