Get out of jail (or your T-Mobile contract) free

Still looking for a way out of that pesky two-year service contract with your mobile phone provider? If you are a T-Mobile customer, you’re in luck.

They recently announced that they are raising the cost of SMS on their network. That of course seems to be the trend with phone providers. When looking for a way to increase revenue, just look at what customers use most, and raise the price. Sounds like a good idea to me. The good news is that means that customers can cancel their service without forking over the $200 early termination fees.

It still might be a little soon to jump ship over to Cingular since the iPhone isn’t due until June. But if you’re willing to live without your phone for a few months, then it’s a great time to get out.
