The Wall Street Journal is reporting that sources have told it that Apple has reduced iPhone 5 component orders. The reduction component orders are reportedly are due to weaker demand for the iPhone 5 than expected. According to the sources, display suppliers for the iPhone 5 have seen orders cut roughly in half.

Apple's Phil Schiller says that despite the potential for sales success for budget smartphone models, cheap devices "will never be the future of Apple products." This comment comes in the wake of reports claiming that a cheap iPhone may be in the works.

FreedomPop is a company that's been around for a while with accessory sleeves for certain Apple gadgets that adds 4G WiMAX connectivity to the mix. The company has announced that its iPhone sleeve is stuck at the FCC and the delay has cost it over $500,000 so far.
