U-Haul developing iPhone application

Lately a lot of different companies have been jumping on board and creating an Apple iPhone application. There are thousands of applications to choose from but what a lot of us want are licensed official applications. It appears that U-Haul is the latest to recognize the opportunity.

In a recent job posting made by U-Haul on a university job board they state that they are looking for an iPhone Programming Intern. In the job description they state:

The U-Haul Web Team is looking for a software developer for a high-profile project. The candidate will be responsible for developing an iPhone application for our Web Self-Storage (self-storage management) software package.
This would be an interface for facility managers that would allow them to:
-View recent transactions – move-ins, move-outs, online reservations, ect.
-Run selected management reports
-Possible perform a move-in and contact customers
-Whatever else is deemed necessary

This clearly shows without a doubt that they are indeed developing an application for the iPhone, but will it be limited to just self storage tools? It Any additions are more than likely to be more of a selling point for them such as making reservations, having an online catalog of packing supplies or providing users with location information rather than offing maps and routes.

  1. thanks…good article…There are several storage companies developing some neat apps for the self storage industry.

  2. I intended to put you that very small note so as to give many thanks the moment again for all the beautiful secrets you’ve discussed on this page. It’s really pretty generous with people like you to make without restraint what a lot of people would’ve sold for an e-book to help make some bucks for their own end, and in particular considering the fact that you might well have tried it if you decided. Those strategies in addition worked like a great way to be certain that the rest have the same desire really like mine to understand more and more in terms of this matter. I’m sure there are several more fun sessions up front for many who read your website.

  3. Quite insightful post. Never believed that it was this simple after all. I had spent a great deal of my time looking for someone to explain this topic clearly and you’re the only one that ever did that. Kudos to you! Keep it up
