If you need any more proof that everyone is trying to offer an app for the iPhone here it is. Tommy Hilfiger has announced a new iPhone app called surprisingly enough, Tommy Hilfiger for iPhone. The app is a downloadable catalog.
The catalog has the full Hilfiger line of clothing for men and women. Users can search to find the latest styles and sort by category or price range. Images in the app can be zoomed and scrolled.
Favorite items can be entered into a shopping cart and ordered directly from the Hilfiger online store. Customers can also receive news on the products and other offerings from the company. The app is free to download.

The author seems to be implying that it’s not connecting to the client’s site, but rather it’s pulling the catalog with the application and browsing offline. That’s not the case. To be clear – on Tommy Hilfiger for iPhone, shoppers can browse the collection; use search and filters to find styles in their favorite category, size or price range; and then pan or zoom in on images. And then they can order on the phone, off the Tommy site. Shoppers unable to find an item in their local store can check availability on the iPhone and place an order that way as well. Thanks!
