Thai AIS in talks with Apple for iPhone exclusivity

iPhoneAfter the ongoing China Mobile madness, dealing with Thai carrier Advanced Info Service (AIS) must seem like a breath of fresh air for Apple.

“We are negotiating on details, including a revenue sharing standard. Apple needs a local operator to promote iPhone” Prattana Leelapanang, assistant vice president for AIS wireless business marketing

Currently seeking regulatory approval to use their 900MHz band for 3G trials, the iPhone’s EDGE connection shouldn’t be the stumbling block for AIS customers as it perhaps has been in European markets.

As yet no details regarding the predicted completion of talks, nor the criteria of any deal between AIS and Apple, have been announced.

You are aware that Taiwan and Thailand are two different countries, right?

That’ll teach me not to write two posts simultaneously! Thanks for the error-spot, Adjusting :)
