Super-sleuth finds 50 missing engineers: turns out they were here all along

Humphrey-JobsWe brought you news a little while back that Apple had sent 50 of their top engineers over to Taipei to work out some bugs with the iPhone. Apparently the source over at Ars Technica was a “bad apple” because Gizmodo’s unnamed source says different.

According to the super-sleuth over at Gizmodo, there were at most a few hardware engineers that made a trip over to Taipei, but they didn’t stay long. So now the question is who do we believe? We’ve got two reliable sources citing two different stories from two different “reliable sources.”

Looking at the two source articles, I have to say that Jesus over at Gizmodo really drew me in with his humorous writing style. Sorry Jacqui, you delivered the news just fine, but Jesus obviously put in a lot of extra effort into this particular story which tells me that he must really believe in the story he’s writing. Well, that or he’s got way too much free time on his hands.

When looking at the actual news that was delivered, Jacqui had to give us bad news. Not only did she tell us that Apple was down 50 engineers, but also said that the iPhone would only be “trickling” to customers in late June. But once again Jesus prevails telling us that the engineers were never missing, leading us to believe that the information on the iPhone production issues may also prove to be false.

In the end, I think I’m want to believe Jesus over at Gizmodo. Not because his information was better (they both cited unnamed sources), or because I like the people over at Ars Technica any less. But I chose to believe that the engineers were never missing and that there will be plenty of iPhone’s going around because it’s easier to believe good news than bad.
