Skyfire Flash browser pulled on high demand, iPhone 3G suit, iPhone lock screen exploit patched

Yesterday was the day that many iPhone users have been waiting to come for years. A browser supporting Flash video launched on the App Store and was VERY popular. So popular that the demand caused service to degrade at Skyfire HQ and the app was pulled from sale to ensure a good user experience while upgrades were made to servers.

An iPhone 3G user has sued Apple alleging that the company offered the iOS 4 update to 3G owners knowing it would brick the phone. The suit is seeking class action status.

An exploit that allows the iPhone lock screen to be bypassed has been patched. The iOS 4.2 update fixes the hole making the iPhone secure again.

Don’t bother wasting your time or money on Skyfire for Iphone, it will not play video from Fancast, Xfinity or Hulu, so what good is it?

I’ve been using skyfire on my WinMo phone for over a year to play back flash video on ALL sites (yes, even Hulu), and it worked amazingly until you iPhone zombies came and gimped their servers since you’ve been gnawing at the bit for years to finally browse with full Flash 10+ support. Since pages are processed server-side, that means I can no longer enjoy my Skyfire either. So, thanks for that.
