After a successful launch, Apple has not stopped wooing carriers. The latest mills is iPhone 3G might land in South Korea. Apple’s own website revealed a job opening for “Korean iPhone Account Manager” – located in Seoul, South Korea’s capital city.
The country is the home of two mobile phone powerhouses, Samsung and LG. Korean seems to be very loyal to its home based company and have very advanced wireless connectivity; that pose some threat to how well iPhone 3G will fit in with only data transfer up to 3.6Mbps.
None or less, iPhone 3G has been proven to be a success in advanced wireless country such as Japan. I’m willing to bet that it will be the same for Korean market due to it well developed touch technology and OS.
There is a petition at http://www.iphonefeatures.org to get Apple to include basic features such as ‘copy and paste’ and more bluetooth profiles in the next iPhone software release. Please sign it!
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh …..I’m foriegner here in south korea i’m filipino and im still waiting for the launching of Iphone here in korea. because many of foriegn people here especially the filipino , are still waiting the Iphone thanks god ,this is the time that we can buy the new cellphone in the world making by APPLE your great and very powerfull through technology. Make faster to drop the Iphone here in korea so that we buy,.We will wait until april and i know it big success to apple managenent. godbless APPLE
I’ve been waiting for the iphone for so long, and I’ve had my hope up and down many times. There has been too many news articles about the iphone coming out, then others saying it is not. Is it really coming or is it not?
A little too late for me. I wanted one about 3 months ago but now…hmmm…It’s not worth it. Short battery life and samsung and Lg are coming out with great (maybe better phones) for cheaper prices. It would not be popular in Korea because Korean phones are just too popular with more functions.
