iPhone 4 uses Audience noise cancellation chip, no LTE iPhone until 2012, FCC and FTC look at location tracking

When iFixit tore down the iPhone 4, they noticed that one of the chips on the board near the processor couldn’t be identified. That chip was for the noise cancellation tech and it has been fingered as a chip from Audience.

Apple isn’t expected to launch an LTE iPhone until 2012 according to the latest rumor. However, the 8MP iPhone 4S is now tipped to be coming in September.

Apple is already facing suits over location tracking and the fix has been offered for the “flaw” as well. Now the FCC and FTC are investigating the location tracking allegations.
