The newest data from research firm Gartner shows that Apple's share of global smartphone market more than double on a year-over-year basis during the first quarter of the year --grew from 5.3 percent to 10.8 percent and (in term of unit sales) jumped from 1.7 million to 3.9 million.

As if there would every be any question about it, the Apple iPhone and iPhone 3G have topped the latest survey conducted by JD Power & Associates. The 2009 Wireless Consumer Smartphone Satisfaction Survey shows the phone taking the lead in most areas.

Move over XBox; step aside TomTom, it's my iPhone I want. 2,500 customers from the Gadget Helpline were asked which toy made them happy which they were more likely to marry - the iPhone was a top three choice.

One of the largest mobile Web ad networks, AdMob, says that Apple’s iPhones now dominate the U.S. mobile Web traffic, gives the iPhone a majority 51 percent share of smartphone market in the country.
