AT&T has been catching a lot of heat recently over the throttling of data speeds for consumers that go over a certain bandwidth allowance each month. This is despite the fact that some studies have shown throttling does nothing to alleviate congestion on networks. AT&T has now announced that it will make adjustments to the data throttling policy for customers that have legacy unlimited plans.

Under the new plan consumers now have higher data caps before their speed is throttled. HSPA+ plans now have a 3 GB per month cap with LTE plans getting 5 GB. Some customers on unlimited data plans have claimed previously that they were throttled after 2 GB of data was used. Square has offered an accessory for accepting mobile payments for the iPhone and iPad for a while now.
Square has now announced that you’ll soon be able to pay for taxi rides using an iPad running the Square app inside the cab. Presumably, taxies could use an iPhone and the accessory as well. Passengers will even be able to use the iPad to surf the web during the ride.
