In the UK O2 and Orange are now both offering the iPhone leading many to wonder if sales would be harmed on either network. O2 is reporting that its sales have remained steady since Orange started offering the iPhone. This suggests that eliminating exclusive deals may not hurt the original provider.

TomTom’s iPhone navigation app has drawn criticism from some users for being expensive and lacking features like text-to-speech that others offer. TomTom is set to release a new update that adds the text-to-speech functionality. The update also adds the ability to control iPod music from within the app.

If there is no great disparity between the service providers there should not be a negative effect on provider sales. In the US, between ATT and Verizon, this is not the likely outcome. Data analysis strongly suggests that Verizon will have a profound negative effect on ATT sales due to the perceived service disparity.
