Apple iCloud trademark for Europe, Apple cracks down on giveaways of iPhone, students may get iCloud discount

Apple’s has filed its iCloud trademark in Europe right in time for WWDC where the service is expected to go official. The European trademark for the service was field yesterday.

A report has surfaced that Apple is cracking down on third parties that are giving away things like the iPhone and iPad as promotions. The provision has been around for a while and states that Apple iPhone, iPad and other gear can’t be used in third-party promotions.

A student discount for access to iCloud is very possible according to some sources. Apple is big on educational discounts so I don’t think anyone would be surprised.
