Recently, a rumor was circulating that we would see the iPhone pre-WWDC, and that in it’s place at WWDC, we would be seeing a new, mystery device. The common consensus, is, and has been for quite some time now, that we would be seeing the 3G iPhone at WWDC. Furthermore, the common consensus is there is no mystery device.
It begs the question, what is this mystery device? Well, it is speculated that it could be the long awaited tablet Mac that has been making its way around the rumor mill for quite some time now. Not much is known about this device, but there are a few bits of rumored specifications floating around. These include a 720×480 multi touch screen, and will be about 50% larger than the iPhone.
It seems, that it is entirely possible that Apple will not make a bug deal out of the 3G iPhone launch. To us, it is a big deal, but to most it is just a product update. It happens all the time, phones get upgraded, that is just how it works. So is Apple going to just be chill about the 3G iPhone, and give us an exciting new device? We will know soon enough. iTablet, anyone?

Hey, i was about to buy an iPhone soon, i m in India, as my relative is coming in May end, now i m confused, should i wait for iPhone 2.0 or should i grab one, right now ( though stocks are out, now ) ?? please help me on that..

I went to buy one from a friend this past weekend who is the manager at an apple store here in town. He didn’t confirm this but we talked for a bit and confirmed my belief that at this point its a better investment to wait it out. Everything i’ve read said the new iphone will sport 3G instead of EDGE (2G) network speeds and (more importantly for me) finally a integrated GPS. I’m holding out at the moment, i’ve waited this long for a reason, always buy the second gen of a product.
Apple apparently just completely sold out of 1st gen, which points to the fact there holding back inventory on a new release but want to dry out the old inventory first. With WWDC right corner June 9th-12th I think they will release the new iphone right before more likely at the conference since this year will focus heavily on the new SDK for the iphone. All iphone users should be expecting a update to v2.0 which will start to fix the frustration of the lack of apps available currently. The next gen iphone is right around the corner 30-60 days.. i’m going to wait it out.
