Novell is a well known name in the developer and corporate software world and the company has announced a new product. The solution is hailed as the first software program that allows developers to build apps for the iPhone using C# and .NET.

The software offerings are Mono Project and MonoTouch, both of which allows .NET developers to use their existing code and libraries to create iPhone apps. The app lets developers who might not have otherwise been in a position to program for the iPhone get into the game. The software costs $999 yearly per developer.

Too bad it’s still Mac OSX only. I think Mac would make a tonne of money if they released an SDK that ran on Windows. I’d love to right code for my iPhone but I sure as hell am not going to spend $$$$$ on a Mac.
