iPWR backup battery by Eznex review

Very often we find that our iPhone batteries do not last an entire day, calling for multiple charges in some cases.  The iPWR backup battery by Eznex is the perfect solution to this battery problem.  Apple’s decision to not include a removable battery on any of their iPhone and iPod products has developed into a need for such a product. The iPWR is a very portable battery backup that is compatible with the iPhone 3G/2G as well as the iPod Touch, Nano, Classic, Shuffle, etc.

Charging your Apple device is easy, just turn on the battery and plug it in.  The iPWR has a few features that other backup batteries do not have. Other backup batteries require you to take off protective cases in order to use them but with the iPWR, you can use it without removing the case. The battery can be charged by micro USB rather than requiring an iPod USB cable. This battery is far more portable and attractive looking than any other we have seen.

We recommend this product to anyone looking for improved battery life. iPWR is perfect for those who are always on the go and need the extra battery life but do not have a chance to plug their device in for a few hours. Other competitors batteries have capacities of 1200mAh (Richardsolo) or 1000mAh (Kensington). Although the capacity of the iPWR is only 50% more than RichardSolo and 80% more than Kensington, power delivered is much more efficient. Compare below the real power delivered to iPhone 3G or original iPhone with the iPWR and its competitors.

1 iPWR battery = 2 Richardsolo batteries
1 iPWR battery = 2.7 Kensington batteries

The iPWR is certified to meet Apple performance standards with a capacity of 1800mAh and output of 5.0V. This product is imprinted with “Works with iPhone” and “Made for iPod”. This is the smallest iPhone backup battery with the highest charge capacity that you will find on the market today. An interesting fact about the backup battery is that, unlike other products, it uses true-shutdown circuits that enable it to hold a charge for several months to a year without use. Currently the iPWR is only available in black but white will be available in the future.

I wanted to get a iPhone so much.
Im really glad i didnt though – i love my new SONY ERICSSON XPERIA X1 with 1500mAh it lasts me at least 3 -4 days straight! Plus it HAS a removeable battery.

Apple really should have included a removeable battery

aslo i bet that thing weighs a tonne!

Also if your using a iphone you’ll be using that thing everyday – you’d never be leaving it for a year!

Still for long journeys and such you could buy several of these-

hmm does the mini usb mean it can charge mini usb devices too?
    male to male cable?

Thanks for your interest , Alex . It means that the battery can be charged by mini USB cable which is included in packaging but it can’t charge mini USB devices…

    Thanks you,

    Greg

The ipwr does not work with the 3gs. I was sent two and neither worked. Thecellguru.com refused to admit that they are incompatible and would not cover costs to return both.

THIS IS BS. THE IPWR WORKS FINE WITH MY 3GS 16GB IPHONE. I have used it several times on overseas business trips without a hitch. I get just about 1.5 charging cycles using it on my 3GS.

My guess is either operator error or your just super unlucky. In any event it does work fine with the 3GS. I’ve had mine in operation for over a year now. Great little unit in a pinch. Just make sure you take your phone out of whatever case you have it in. The connector will not “lockin” properly unless you plug the pack in when the phone is out of the case. Needs to nest in the port all the way. You’re phone will beep to let you know its charging.

Great unit. Blow off the bad reviews their wrong in my opinion.
