iPhone skin for Sony VAIO UX micro-PC

I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether device skins that make your gadget look like something else are cool or not; some people love them, others think they’re ridiculous.  But at least with Micro PC Talk forum member Alexium’s iPhone skin you get more than just mimicked buttons.  His creation for the Sony VAIO UX micro-PC not only looks like Apple’s interface, but it also has some of the functionality too.

Now there’s no way to add Multi-Touch to the UX’s touchscreen, but the familiar slide-to-unlock is there, iTunes Cover Flow and – going one better than the iPhone – VoIP support with Skype.  Right now it’s more of a launcher, though – tapping one level beyond the interface brings you back to WinXP on the UX, which is far less finger-friendly.

Alexium is planning a release version when he’s tidied it up a little, and hopefully had a chance to pack some more features in there.  Ironically, there are probably fewer UX users than there are iPhone owners, so it’s likely even more of a niche product!
