Apple Special Event confirmed for September 5th

It hardly feels like thirteen minutes since Apple last had a “Special Event” (but then Vincent would tell me that every day with his iPhone is a special event), but unfurl your calendars and roughly circle September 5th because Jobs’n'co will be hitching up their waggon and flaunting their latest wares at the Moscone Center in sunny San Francisco.

Apple Special Event on September 5th - will new iPods steal the show?

So what goodies could we expect?  Well, it seems a little too early for a Euro iPhone announcement (though I shall keep a pair of fingers crossed just in case) so the obvious toys are the latest iPods – the nano-replacing iPod Tubbs (no, that’s not the real name, but it should be) and the sixth-gen iPod Touch with hopefully a MultiTouch screen and other iPhone-derived loveliness.  Some are wishing for an iTunes update too.

What are you expecting to see on September 5th?  What would you like to see?  Personally I’m holding out a little hope for Steve in something other than a turtle-neck, but then I’ve always been less than traditional.

Honestly, I would like a iTunes update (for windows).
